Users can go with the Archive Feature that Available in Outlook to divide large PST files into smaller parts. Use these mention steps:

  1. Start Outlook and navigate to the File tab.  
  2. Click Info>> Tools>> Clean up Old items.
  3. Select a folder to Archive, choose a date in Archive items older. Click Browse to save Archive File at the desired location, and click OK to end the process.

Method 2. Use Import/export Option to manage the large size of the PST file.

You can also split large PST files with import/export Wizards. Follow all the steps that are mentioned below:

  1. Start from the File menu then navigate to Account Settings >> Account Settings.
  2. From the Account setting wizard, check to Add under the Data Files option.
  3. Enter file name and type as Outlook Data File (.pst) and Click OK to continue.
  4. A new PST file is created, you can easily view new PST under Data Files.
  5. Again follow the instructions as File >> Open & Export >> Import/Export.
  6. In the Import/Export wizard, select Export to a file option and click Next.
  7. Select Outlook Data File (.pst) in Export to a file window.
  8. Select the required folder to export and also check the Include subfolders option. 
  9. Click on Browse and select the desired location to save the exported file. From this panel, click on Do not export duplicates items and click the Finish button.

Method 3. Reduce Outlook Mailbox Size by Using Move To Folder Option.

You can also try to move the folder option to split large PST file in Outlook. Follow this process step by step to perform this task.

  1. Navigate as File tab >> Account Settings >> Account Settings
  2. Click on the Data Files tab and then click the Add button to create a new PST file.
  3. Go to the Home screen, open the default PST file and select the items which you want to move to a new PST file you created. 
  4. For this, click on the Move button from the top and select the Copy to Folder option.
  5. Next, choose the PST file from the copy of the selected items to the folder option and click OK.
